Artwork from daycare goes viral as dad asks: 'Should I be worried?'

A three-year-old's artwork went viral online after his parents asked if they should be worried.

Many parents know the feeling when their young child offers them a drawing, says it depicts something they can't possibly decipher, and simply learns to nod along.

Redditor Sosta experienced this on a whole new level when his toddler came home with an artwork made from red marker and stickers that resembled something from a horror movie.

He shared the picture with Reddit's r/Funny subscriber and wrote, “My 3 year old did this at daycare and says it's me. Should I be worried?”

It featured an outline of a human figure to which his child had then added sticker eyes. So far so normal

But the sticker mouth was sideways and full of sharp teeth, while there were cloud stickers in its stomach. And the only coloring was done with red pen, especially in the midsection, mouth and eyes.

Reddit users loved the post, which has received over 48,000 upvotes since it was published on November 10th.

Thousands commented and expressed their opinions, including one who asked the very important question: “Be fair, is that what you look like?”

“I'm worried you may have a case of the upset stomach/wry mouth,” wrote another. “Please have this checked. We are all praying for you.”

One initially worried: “Really worrying,” but then joked: “No three-year-old I know can color the lines that well.”

And another needed more details, asking: “How often are you covered from head to toe in blood?” Do you slaughter a lot?”

Art is known to be of great benefit to children of all ages, but for young children it helps develop their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.

Drawing, painting, and cutting with scissors contribute to better handwriting, tying shoelaces, and even sports. According to the report, completing an art project can also help boost a child's self-esteem and confidence.
