Centralia man arrested on child pornography charges

CENTRALIA, Ill. (KFVS) – A Centralia, Illinois man is arrested on child pornography charges following an investigation in Jefferson County.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, on Tuesday, November 12, members of the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force arrested 45-year-old Leith A. Hiltibidal of Centralia on federal charges of distribution of child pornography.

Hiltibidal was taken to the Jefferson County Jail, where he is currently incarcerated in a federal prison.

The sheriff's office says the arrest was a direct result of an investigation by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office initiated on May 17, which resulted in search warrants being issued for electronic devices and Hiltibidal's Centralia residence on July 1 were delivered.

Once the investigation was completed, it was turned over to the U.S. Attorney's Office for review and criminal charges.
