Spurs' Victor Wembanyama and Chris Paul suggest a high-risk, high-reward player bet

Last season, the San Antonio Spurs had some difficulty getting Victor Wembanyama the ball.

The then-rookie is 6-foot-11 and can get off the rim with the best, but the Spurs didn't pair Wembanyama with a point guard for much of the season.

To fix that, the Silver and Black signed Chris Paul to a one-year deal this summer. One of the greatest point guards of all time, Paul has spent his career throwing alley-oops to DeAndre Jordan, Tyson Chandler, Blake Griffin, Deandre Ayton and Clint Capela.

Wembanyama is the most tantalizing attacking threat Paul has ever had and the duo came together for the first of many pre-season alley-ups.

After the pre-season game on October 9, Wembanyama praised Paul as a passer.

“If there's anyone in this league who can throw it, it's probably him,” the French center said.

With this in mind, fans can take their chances with sports betting and try to make some money with the successful duo.

FanDuel is offering +1700 odds that the first basket of the Spurs' opener on Thursday night will be a dunk by Wembanyama. With Spurs' victory in the opening game all but guaranteed, Wembanyama and Paul may want to send a message.

“We want to perform,” Wembanyama said on October 21st. “First minute, first move.”

If the odds are too high due to the special nature of the first basket, FanDuel offers +390 odds that the first basket of the game will be scored by Wembanyama.

Even when the game isn't starting, fans should tune in to see what kind of acrobatics above the rim Wembanyama unleashes on both ends of the floor as he begins his second season.
