Two teens arrested for attempted 16-car burglary in College Station

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – College Station police arrested two teenagers after they reportedly saw them checking door handles and breaking into cars in the early hours of Sunday.

According to arrest reports, around 4 a.m. on Sunday, November 10, 17-year-old Teddy Walker and 18-year-old Charles Harrell were spotted pulling on car door handles near Luther Street and Montclair Avenue. Officers said they saw the pair attempt to break into 16 vehicles, gaining entry into one vehicle. Three of the vehicle owners were later contacted by police and asked to file a report.

The officers were patrolling because there has been a recent increase in car thefts in the area.

Police arrested the two and booked them into the Brazos County Jail.

Harrell is charged with three counts of vehicle theft and is being held on $55,000 bonds.

Walker is also charged with three counts of vehicle theft and is also being held on $55,000 bonds.
