Wrong-way driver arrested on I-75

A suspected drunk driver was arrested early Wednesday morning after officials said he was driving the wrong way on I-75.

TAMPA, Fla. – Hillsborough County officers arrested a wrong-way driver accused of driving under the influence early Wednesday morning on I-75 near Fletcher Avenue.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, several calls were received just after 4 a.m. about a Dodge Charger traveling the wrong way on the highway

Officers said they discovered the driver, later identified as Pedro Ivan Gregorio, 25, was driving the wrong way without headlights and corralled him.

He is charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving and driving with a suspended, suspended or revoked license.

“This reckless behavior could easily have resulted in tragedy. “Thanks to our deputies’ quick response, a dangerous situation was averted,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “We remain committed to keeping our roads safe and will not tolerate drivers who endanger our community.”
