Bushfire breaks out in Pacific Palisades

PACIFIC PALISADES, CA – Firefighters halted the progress of a brush fire Wednesday morning after it burned an acre of land near the Santa Ynez Reservoir.

Firefighters responded to the 1400 block of North Palisades Drive around 9:50 a.m. Wednesday to battle the fire, which the Los Angeles Fire Department said was moving slowly through dense brush.

The fire was caused by the steep topography and not the wind. According to the fire department, emergency services stopped the fire within an hour.

“LAFD Air Operations’ precisely targeted, rapid water drops combined with the firefighter’s aggressive fire attack on the ground kept the fire at approximately one acre,” the LAFD said. “Due to the steep terrain and the work required to conduct a cleanup operation, all resources remain on site.”

No injuries were reported.
