A boy is facing murder charges after he allegedly shot and killed his father, according to Lancaster police

An underage boy is charged with murder after he allegedly shot and killed his father, Lancaster police said.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1000 block of Nancy Lane around 10:15 p.m. Tuesday. Upon arrival, police learned that there had been a physical altercation between a man and his son, police said in a news release.

During the argument, the boy allegedly shot his father several times, hitting him several times. The man, who police identified as Alvoyd Ford, 43, of Lancaster, was later pronounced dead.

The teen was arrested by Lancaster officers and booked into the Henry Wade Juvenile Justice Center, police said. Police did not release the boy's name or age.
