Whoopi Goldberg reveals what it would take to leave 'The View': A bigger bank account

Whoopi Goldberg has co-hosted “The View” for nearly 20 years, but on a recent episode she joked that she's not just sticking around for fun — she needs the money.

Just before her 69th birthday, Goldberg spoke about her financial situation – which focused on the struggles of the working class – during Tuesday's live show, saying: “I appreciate that people are having a hard time. Me too. I work to earn a living.” .”

“If I had all the money in the world, I wouldn’t be here, okay? So I'm a working person, you know?” Goldberg continued. “My child has to feed his family. My great-granddaughter has to be fed by her family. I know it’s hard out there.”

However, Goldberg is not as strapped for cash as many other Americans. Goldberg is worth an estimated $60 million and said in a spring episode that she plans to leave everything to her daughter Alexandrea Martin.

“One of the great answers is that kids learn from what they see,” Goldberg explained on the May 2 episode. “My mom got her butt hard and that’s why I feel the way I feel and I’m leaving everything I have to my child.”

A breakdown of “The View” co-host's salary, reported by OK! reported. The magazine ranks Goldberg at the top at $8 million per year in 2022, with Joy Behar at $7 million, Sunny Hostin at $1.6 million and Alyssa Farah Griffin at an estimated $250,000 rake in.

“For Alyssa coming from the White House, 'The View' salary would be a step up!” the insider who provided these figures to the publication said.
