Bulloch Co. man sentenced to 30 years in prison for murder of roommate

BULLOCH COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) – Bulloch County man Eric Harris has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for the murder of his roommate, Melissa Jean Pughsley.

Four years ago, Harris was accused of killing Pughsley and hiding the body in the house for two days.

According to sentencing documents, Harris reduced premeditated murder to involuntary manslaughter and pleaded guilty to concealing the death of another.

Harris will spend 27 years in prison and serve the final three years of his sentence on probation if he follows the terms of his probation.
