Detroit teen charged with killing 14-year-old boy and injuring his own mother

(CBS DETROIT) – A 15-year-old Detroit boy is charged in connection with fatal shot at a 14-year-old boy and injured his mother.

According to police, an argument between the two teenagers escalated on the evening of November 7th when the 15-year-old pulled out a pistol and fired several shots, striking the 14-year-old in the head, left arm, right hand and Head hit the left thigh and hit his 32-year-old mother in the right arm.

The teen is charged with second-degree murder and felony firearm charges. He will not be charged as an adult but will be classified as an adult, meaning that if convicted, a judge will have the option of sentencing the teen as a juvenile, as an adult, or imposing a mixed juvenile sentence, which prosecutors say is “the option of.” allows imposition of an adult sentence if the juvenile is not rehabilitated.”
