Hit-and-run driver will face a judge after a crash in Las Vegas left two children dead

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The suspect arrested in connection with the crash that killed two children faced a judge Wednesday morning.

Nikki Serrat, 32, is being held without bail. Her arraignment is expected in two days.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department accuses Serrat of speeding in a Lexus when she ran a red light near Pecos and Flamingo.

She crashed into a Mitsubishi containing a driver and four children. The driver suffered minor injuries. The children were taken to hospital, where two died, the others were treated and released.

Serrat also hit two other cars in the accident.

Police said she fled the scene but was later arrested. She faces reckless driving and hit-and-run.

The deceased children were 11 and 6 years old.
