Donnie Kent is accused of shooting two teenagers during a road rage incident

MADISON CO., Ala. (WAFF) – The man suspected of shooting two high school students in a road rage incident Saturday has been arrested.

Officials with the Madison County Sheriff's Office say that through a joint investigation with the Lincoln County, Tennessee, Sheriff's Office, they were able to identify the suspect as 29-year-old Donnie Kent of Lincoln, Tennessee.

The incident occurred on the highway. 231 North in Hazel Green.

WAFF 48 News spoke with one of the teens, Jackson Shores, who was in the vehicle when he said Kent drove his car off the road and shot her twice.

Warrants were obtained for Kent, he was arrested and formally charged with two counts of discharging a firearm into an inhabited dwelling.

Kent is being held at the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office Jail Facility while he awaits extradition. Additional charges are expected.
