It's time for basketball: Spurs vs. Wizards

Welcome to the game thread. Veterans of the game thread know how we operate here, but for anyone new, we have a few rules. Our Community Guidelines Apply and basically say: Be cool, no personal attacks, don't troll, and don't curse too much.

This week's ESPN performance ratings placed the Washington Wizards at 30th, which is as bad as you can get in the 30-team NBA. They've only beaten one team this year (the Hawks twice) and would like to add another victim to the admittedly small pile they've amassed so far.

If the Spurs were already a good team, this would be a planned win, but this is an inconsistent silver and black team that can beat good teams and allow bad teams to steal wins from them due to a lack of intensity and uneven execution to take away. The Spurs are still figuring out who they are, and a motivated team can benefit from that.

The Spurs still lack Jeremy Sochan's ability to create offense when the game isn't working, but with Devin Vassell back in the lineup and attacks from unexpected sources like Sandro Mamukelashvili, they have become a dangerous team. The thing is, there is danger both ways, so let's watch the game and see which team does well tonight. If the Spurs keep their mistakes under control, this should be another win that would give San Antonio a 6-6 record and move them into play-in range, but that doesn't matter this early in the season. Last season, Spurs didn't get their sixth win until January, so this year's team is much better so far. Let's see what happens next.

Playback with Pounding the Rock:

Match prediction:

Bilal Coulibaly and Alex Sarr will try to slip into the Spurs dressing room after the game, but his teammates will stop them.

A final word:

Go Spurs GOOOOOO!!
