Surfer Bethany Hamilton makes her debut as a masked singer after Nephew's death

The professional surfer who recently lost her three-year-old nephew Anthony Hamilton— fulfilled her dream of appearing on the Fox singing competition series on the Nov. 13 episode of the reality show.

The 34-year-old, who was dressed as a macaron, was introduced by a friend Masked singer Season 6 alum Willie Robertson.

“If anyone knows how life can change in an instant, it’s Macaron,” he says Duck Dynasty star shared a video about how Bethany lost her left arm in a shark attack in 2003. “She’s a tough cookie.”

Bethany continued to hint at her true identity in her own video.

“When I was growing up, life was pretty sweet until my life was changed forever by an event rarer than a lightning strike,” the mother of four teased during the episode, which was filmed months before her recent family tragedy. “Instead of my spirit collapsing, I dug deep. I fought hard and started from scratch. So why not put a half-hearted dream into action by continuing to sing?” The Masked Singer?”
