Best AR loadout

AMES 85

There are a lot of great assault rifles to play with in Black Ops 6, but we decided to highlight the AMES 85 with this particular loadout. | Photo credit: Rock-Paper Shotgun/Activion
  • Optics: Accu-Spot Reflex
  • Snout: Ported compensator
  • Barrel: Reinforced barrel
  • Rear handle: Quickdraw handle
  • Share: Balanced inventory

For now, it's a toss-up about which AR dominates the Black Ops 6 meta, and if you take a look at our list of the best assault rifles in the game, you'll see that we're putting the XM4 at the top for now. However, the XM4 is very suitable as a weapon for beginners, so we have listed it in another section of this guide. For all other assault rifle enthusiasts, the AMES 85 is a great choice that fires bullets with true panache.

This loadout is designed to maximize the range of the AMES 85 and increase accuracy. We recommend using the Overkill wildcard perk when equipping this weapon, as the AMES 85 pairs very well with a submachine gun. Equipping AMES 85 and Jackal PDW together will make you a real killing machine.

Best SMG loadout

Jackal PDW

  • Barrel: CHF barrels
  • Lower reaches: Ranger foregrip
  • Rear handle: CQB handle
  • Magazine: Advanced Mag I
  • Share: Infiltrator stock

The Jackal PDW is an absolutely vicious weapon with an outstanding rate of fire that will tear enemies apart at close range. During the beta, this was the meta choice that dominated all games, and it's still a top choice if you like a good submachine gun.

Our guide to the best Jackal PDW loadout has all the details on the specifics of the setup presented here, but in short: equipping these attachments will make you even faster and complement an aggressive playstyle. Combine the Jackal PDW with an AR, equip yourself with Enforcer perks and you're sure to stay at the top of the leaderboard in any multiplayer match.

Best sniper rifle equipment

LR 7.62

  • Barrel: Reinforced barrel
  • Lower reaches: Precision hand protection
  • Rear handle: Quickdraw handle
  • Magazine: Advanced Mag II
  • Fire mods: Rapid fire

For those who want big headshots, grab the 7R 7.62. This repeating sniper rifle is slow and not suitable for small spaces, but it shines exactly where a sniper rifle should shine – at long range. Settle into a private corner of the map, aim the LR 7.62, and watch the kills add up instantly.

Our loadout here is designed to slightly increase bullet speed and damage range, both factors that are crucial when sniping. To compensate for the slow rechamber speed of the LR 7.62, we also included the Rapid Fire mod and an Extended Mag. If you want to further improve handling, you can also swap the Quickdraw handle for the ergonomic handle, which will help you in those moments when you need a Quickscope.

Best LMG loadout

XMG

  • Barrel: Long barrel
  • Lower reaches: Vertical foregrip
  • Rear handle: Quickdraw handle
  • Magazine: Almost Like I
  • Share: Balanced inventory

Our favorite LMG is the XMG, which has a huge mag size and fires bullets continuously. What really sets the XMG apart is its incredible speed for quick kills, and if you just want to shoot like crazy no matter what mobility you have, then this is the weapon for you.

Our loadout here is designed to take advantage of the XMG's strengths to give you a powerful class setup while also offering some slight improvements to movement and aiming down-sight speed. Plus even more ammunition if the XMG's immense number of standard bullets isn't enough for you. If you're using this loadout, we recommend taking advantage of all the Enforcer perks and perhaps supplementing your already impressive rate of fire with a submachine gun like the Jackal PDW or the Tanto .22.

Best loadout for beginners

XM4

  • Rear handle: Quickdraw handle
  • Share: Heavy inventory

For those just getting their first taste of Black Ops 6 multiplayer, or even new Call of Duty players in general, the XM4 is a very good choice. A popular mainstay of the beta, the

Check out our XM4 Gear Guide for the full explanation of all the attachments selected here. In short, we equipped the XM4 to increase its viability at longer distances while correcting recoil a bit. Overall, beginners should have a good time with this loadout, but those who aren't entirely satisfied with other ARs like the AMES 85 and AK-47 should also be satisfied.
