Kim Kardashian praises Olivia Munn for showing off her double mastectomy scars in the SKIMS campaign

Kim Kardashian praises her newest SKIMS model Olivia Munn.

The 44-year-old entrepreneur posted on Instagram Stories Munn's new campaign for the shapewear brand, in which the actress, also 44, shows off her double mastectomy scars.

“Hell yeah,” Kardashian wrote over a photo of Munn posing topless from the side with a scar visible along her chest. The reality star also tagged Munn and SKIMS in the post.

The campaign, unveiled on Wednesday, October 23, marks the first time Munn has shown off her surgical scars since the surgery. In the photos, Munn models the brand's signature bras and shapewear, including the Ultimate Nipple Bra in Clay, the Ultimate Teardrop Push-Up Bra in Sienna, the Multi-Way Bra in Onyx and the Back Smoothing Brief Bodysuit in Onyx.

“I felt a sense of freedom,” she told PEOPLE about the campaign’s unveiling. “It’s a part of my journey that remained hidden, so it felt liberating to share it.”

Munn was diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer in April 2023 after tests revealed she had Luminal B, a rapidly developing, aggressive cancer. Since then, she has had five surgeries, including a lymph node dissection, a double mastectomy and a hysterectomy.

“I want other women to love their scars because they are proof that we fought back with everything we needed to be here,” Munn told PEOPLE about the campaign, which also helps To raise money for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. “Beauty exists in every experience.”

“We were in the middle of the shoot and we were doing an outfit change so I could see more of my scars and the makeup artist was touching up my scars and we got to my double mastectomy scars and they were really hard to cover up “,” she recalled during the Oct. 23 broadcast. “And then I looked in the mirror and I was like, 'I'm tired of worrying about my scars.' “

In a statement from the brand, Kardashian said, “Olivia's courage in sharing her story is deeply moving and we are honored to amplify her voice this Breast Cancer Awareness Month.” Partnering with her and Susan G. Komen allows SKIMS to further advance our commitment to inclusivity and supporting every body.”
