UFC 308 weigh-ins: Khamzat Chimaev beats the buzzer to make weight for the co-main event

ABU DHABI – Robert Whittaker vs. Khamzat Chimaev is one step closer to ultimate success after both made weight ahead of the co-main event of UFC 308 on Friday.

After undefeated sensation Chimaev (26-7 MMA, 22-7 UFC) pulled out of the original June date, all signs point to him returning to the octagon for his match against former champion Whittaker (26-7 ) reached the middleweight mark MMA, 17-5 UFC) at the official weigh-in at the UFC host hotel ahead of Saturday's event, which takes place at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island (ESPN+ pay-per-view, ESPN+).

Whittaker stepped on the scale at 185.5 pounds, while Chimaev was listed at 186 pounds for the five-round showdown that could serve as a title eliminator for the expected championship rematch between Dricus Du Plessis and Sean Strickland.
