Police investigate murder in Grand Forks

GREAND FORKS, N.D. (Valley News Live) – A murder investigation is underway in Grand Forks after police said a man died as a result of suspicious injuries Thursday evening.

Grand Forks police said just after 9 p.m. on Oct. 24, they were called to a residence in the 100 block of Cherry St. for a report of a man who was unresponsive.

When officers arrived, they found the victim, a 49-year-old man, suffering from suspicious injuries. Officials said they performed life-saving measures and transported the victim to Altru Hospital, where he was unfortunately pronounced dead.

Police are currently keeping the victim's identity secret until next of kin are notified.

According to authorities, a relevant person has been identified and it is believed that person and the victim knew each other. The identity of the person concerned is not being disclosed at this time due to the ongoing investigation.

Police say this is an active and developing investigation. Updates will be made as they become available. However, no further information is being released at this time.
