A group of young men allegedly involved in the menace of illegal small-scale mining, popularly called galamsey, have been beaten up by an anti-galamsey task force.

A viral video of the incident shows the young men receiving severe lashes from a man in a military uniform.

When the defendants received severe blows on their backs, they laughed.

The man who beat her was heard encouraging her to laugh as he went around whipping her.

The man, who recorded a video of the incident, was also heard saying: “What will you drink if you continue to spoil the water? Do you have any alternatives to drinking?”
