The youngest Pokémon The data leak has revealed many unused assets and details, including a Mega Evolution cut for the infamous 1st generation Jynx. In August 2024, The Pokemon Company and longtime Pokémon Developer Game Freak was the victim of a series of massive data breaches that uncovered many unproduced games, scrapped lore, and a variety of unused Pokémon designs spanning several decades. It is called the greatest Pokémon-related leak at all, and new things are still being discovered even several months later.

Among the ultimately unused Pokémon revealed in this massive “Teraleak” is an alternate Water starter that fans have dubbed “Warabbit,” which would have replaced Mudkip as one of the starter Pokémon options Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. There were also beta versions of Shroomish and Breloom, two types of grass that were also introduced in Ruby and sapphire. These and many other discarded Pokémon names and designs have inspired fans to draw their own versions of what they would have looked like if they had made it into an official Pokémon Pokémon Game.

From the already earth-shattering Teraleak, yet another Cut Pokémon has been revealed, this time as an unused Mega Evolution for a creature introduced in the original Pokémon Red and Blue. Concept art for a “Mega Jynx” was recently shared on Twitter by CentroLeaks_alt (as reported by Kotaku) and describes an alternative form that would have been released in Pokémon X and Y. Mega Jynx retains the humanoid design of his standard form, with longer blonde hair and a shimmering blue and white dress. According to notes shared by CentroLeaks_alt, Mega Jynx would have retained the Ice/Psychic typing of the original.


Jynx has almost reached Mega Evolution in Pokémon X and Y


Jynx is one of the most infamous Pokémon in the world Pokémon Red and Blue lineup, thanks to its controversial original design. The design was accused of resembling negative stereotypes about black people, a controversy that became a holiday theme Pokémon Episode will never air in the US. Game Freak fixed the issue by changing Jynx's black skin to purple as of 2019 Pokémon Gold and Silverthe same entry that introduced the earlier form of Smoochum.

Some Pokémon Fans had already designed a hypothetical Mega Evolution for Jynx, not knowing that she almost got an official version when the mechanic was introduced Pokémon X and Y.
